I can buy a small tri-tip or rump roast from HEB for about $5-$7.
Slice it real thin to make 3-4 servings to be mixed with
stir-fries and chow-funs, etc. It doesn't always have to be a
big honking steak, though that is nice once in a while :-O

Also, decent ground beef is ~$2.50/lb. Makes 3 hamburgers at
$.80/each.

These kinds of meals are of course supplemented with lots of
vegetables, like Mac and Cheese.
