Toilet - sealing flange to slab
|
|
|
| Do toilet flanges have to be sealed to the slab?
Does the flange have to be sealed to the sewer pipe?
Can mould get under the linoleum from other than the wax seal?

The flange has to be mechanically attached. A 'seal' (as in
watertight) is not necessary.

Not likely.

The average bathroom has plenty of other moisture sources besides the
toilet.

What about a high water table?
What about a broken drain pipe and a downstream pluggage? Seems like either
could give infiltration of sewage water. Also seems that either could be
prevented by sealing the flange to the slab.
