We learned a lot. We replaced the condenser motor and the problem
continued. We called in more experienced (in our opinion) the
Contractors listed in the Homeowners Manual (Jet Residential LLC) about
60 miles away.
Finally, the unit squeaked, etc. when he had his gauges on, and he
immediately determined that is was the compressor. This man came with
HIGH recommendations from our neighbors. He said that the Rheem Corsair
was a very inexpensive unit, and we replaced it with a Carrier (which
has a scroll compressor). We are cool and happy.
Again, every time I come to this group, I end up learning a lot. I hope
I made the correct decision, but sometimes it comes down to experts and
subjective trust. I may have them come out yearly to give it once over
in the spring.
Thanks again,
Jack
