Installing new thermostat to clean the air

| I'm considering replacing my LUX TX1500
http://www.luxproducts.com/thermostats/tx500.htm
with a LUX CAG1500 http://www.luxproducts.com/thermostats/cag1500.htm
thermostat.
The latter appears to have the ability to turn on the fan (and thus, clean
the air) for some programmed number of minutes every hour without activating
heating or cooling.
Has anyone here any experience with the CAG1500?
Right now, I leave the fan ON using the TX1500 for about 12 hours per day.
Would turning on/off the fan 24 times a day for 15 minutes (6 hours total)
be easier on the HVAC system than leaving it running for 12 continuous hours
a day?
TIA.

Any motor draws the most power, and is put under stress each time it starts.
Starting windings always draw more power than "run" windings.
Some of the posts here about motors on generators running but not being able
to re-start will verify this
Once the motor is running it should be best to leave it going, rather than
restarting every hour.
Less stress on the motor, and you are filtering air steadily.

Yes, as is true in general of inductive loads like motors and lights.
except lights are cheap to replace.
