What is the best way to remove an existing ceramic tile floor? We intend to
replace it with a marble tile floor. What is the best subfloor treatment
for this?

Removing it is a lot of work, but also fun. Check out this link.

You need to be more specific if you want expert
advice.
What type of floor is it.... plywood?....slab?
What type and size of tile is there now.
Are you doing the new marble job yourself?
