| Does anyone know how quiet the "quietmaster" units are. I read in
Consumer Reports that the 10,400 btu a/c is very quiet. I am about to
purchase the 14,000 btu one (SS14L10). The dealer insured me that it
was as quiet. Does anyone know if thats true?????
Thanks,
B

Only thing I know is that Friedrich has a reputation for being one of the
quietest room sized AC's made.

| Friedrich window units are very popular here (San Antonio), probably in
part because they are made here, but there are a lot of them 40 years
old still going. The others are correct--- they have always had the
reputation of being the quietest, as well as the most efficient, besides
lasting forever. Like everything else, the new ones will probably not
live as long as the old ones, but they certainly will outlive the ones
made in China many times over. Larry
