DO NOT USE DESIGNSCAPE!

They are a National Landscape Design firm located in San Diego they
will make your lfe miserable.

Unfortuntely, I came across them at a home improvement tradeshow and
discovered them as an option to design my new yard to include a
swimming pool, firplace, outdoor kitchen, and planting plan.

This group does all their design work over the web using photographs
that are taken by a respresentative who takes measurements in the early
stagers of your planning. You will never meet your designers and they
are quick to push you to sign off on each phase, even though you might
not be ready. The management was unresponsive to phone calls, the
designers completed sloppy work, and corrections were not made in a
timely manner, if at all.

To make my point clear... I terminated my agreement into my FIFTH month
of planning. FIVE MONTHS!

I will never recommend them to anyone! Please pass the word on as
these guys will make your life hell, if you are working on a timline.
My front yard is supoosed to be completed by September... it's August
and we have not even broken ground.

ha, their** ads in "employment" section of craigslist look "oily" :-)
their website is a mix of ad copy and legitimate design goals.

** caveat: these may not be the same non-local people. possibly they use a similarly generic name

reviewing my notes, appears they are same people.

that's weak.

i'm particularly interested in details regarding the preceding sentences.

how did that correspond to a payment "schedule"? i assume you had yet to pay.

(also, without knowing more, it's possible that you are a "difficult" client.)

aug 09 (your post here) to sep 30 allows over a month. that should be enough time for an install, though the pool sub would eat
a lot of that.

fresh plantings in hot areas (how far inland in SD?) suffer less after august.

Mr. Rodriquez,

This is Tim Cruickshank from DesignScape. I spoke with you on many
occassions during your design process.

While I would prefer to pursue offline avenues for our communications, I
thought it in my company's best interest to respond to your posting. If
you'd like to discuss your project further, please email me at my
tcruickshank@designscape.com address.

First off, I think it note-worthy to state that you received a final set
for your project. A lot of the issues you had with your plans stemmed
from the placement of a pump for your pool, which we addressed by revising
your plans.

Additionally, your posting contradicts itself in the fact that you state
that we are "quick to push you to sign off on each phase, even though you
might
not be ready", yet it took too long to design your project. Our goal is
to work within the timeframe of every customer, with each individual
homeowner requiring/requesting a different level of / timing to service.

You should not feel pressured by our designers to finish a design in any
specific amount of time, but please keep in mind that our clients all have
different ideas of how long the design process should take. In coming up
with a strategy for the company, we decided that three meeting with a
designer would be a more than adequate time-frame to complete a Hardscape
Design -- one Pre-Design Consultation, one Initial Design, and one Final
Design.

Feel free to email me back if you have any further issues you'd like to
discuss.

Thank you,

Tim C.
