I have just read Dana Brandt,s artical in hp109 , although I have read
about mini grids before . the idea of multi master grid tie inverter's
with grid supply/demand control and with batt charging/discharging . is
just fantastic ! so if I have got this right a house holder(consumer)
could supply pv generated electric to himself,his nhabours and at the
same time take waste electric from his pv/nabours/grid so in times of
plenty (sunny/windy) the energy not used could be stored(batt) for use
of the hole grid in times of energy fammin . because of the distrobuted
nature of the compleate system there is no huge central energy storeage
system e.g. storeage h.e.p .

I'd like to see better support of net metering not only by the states, =
but the feds could
provide some sort of incentive as well. In Oregon where I live, I was =
thinking about
developing a CO-OP of several rural homeowners in the area SW of Portland=
where there
should be good regular wind. I was disappointed to learn that the way =
net metering is
defined here today, only one residence would be allowed to claim the =
power returned to the
grid, and even worse, you cannot continue to accumulate credit after you =
exceed that one
month's usage bill. Any excess is used to provide relief on energy used =
by low income
families. That wouldn't be a problem for me if those folks would help us=
buy the
windmill. Seriously what it does is provide "dis incentive" to those =
other residences who
may have been prospects for partnerships in the windmill co-op idea I =
had. Just having
additional energy production without the maintenance overhead like they =
would have it they
put up their own would be encouraged you'd think. I think they might be=
surprised of
what creative enterprises would sprout up if they didn't put limits on =
it.

In sharp contrast however, just down the hill from me the paper mill on =
the river
installed a heat recovery system to pull energy out of their water =
processes and they
claim to "make" $20, 000.00/month in returned energy, go figure. Our net=
metering laws
aren't as restrictive as some other states, however. Some (most, I =
think) don't have a
net metering policy!

Hi there, i would like to know if any of u guys have an output waveform
of the voltage and current for a inverter 240VAC

Well, it _should_ be sinusoidal, but depending on the inverter and
load it could be anything from a square wave to a stairstep to a sine
to just about anything.

Did you have a particular inverter in mind? Some load you want to
run?
