Any recommendations for buying DC compact flourescents? I'm tired of
replacing 12V incandescents and am ready to make the switch.

We use the Amarelle DC tube lights from Home Depot. 6 watts, and can use
8 "AAA"'s or the 12vdc jack. $12 or so .....

I buy them off the hook at my local West Marine for $15.99
http://www.westmarine.com/ They ain't cheap, but I have had years of
good luck with them (I use them for yard lighting)
Here is a link to the item:

The Home Depot on the way home deport didn't have the 6W Amarelle (out
of stock), so I stopped at Fred Meyer and found a 12V 8W flourescent
tube light by GE for $8.99. Marketed as a closet light, but I think
I'll try it under counter and as a reading light. I have 8 AAs in it
and have it velcroed to the wall for testing.
