Author flexible gas tight exhaust pipe?

What options exist?
The stainless "flex hose" sold by JC Whitney is not actually gas tight.

Are long bellows available?

The required diameter is 1".

You do not need long bellows, you only need them long enough to absorb
vibration and then you can connect them to fixed pipes. That said, I
recall that you mentioned looking for 3600 RPM inexpensive diesel
generators. If so, then, they may not be approved/safe for indoor
installation.

They are not, and I would use this configuration only under extreme
emergency, such as nuclear fallout or volcanic eruption, and monitor it with
a CO detector.

Where can a 1" bellows be obtained?

try www.dmeexpansionjoints.com/flex-metal-hose.htm

also, it is not advisable to run a diesel during volcanic eruption/ash
fallout, due to abrasiveness of ash.

Yes, I agree. I am going to make pre-filters out of nylon stocking
material.
It is also advisable not to have a volcanic eruption
Unfortunately, I am what some would say slightly neurotic with respect to
apocalyptic events.
I have no belief that they will occur in my lifetime, yet I feel somehow a
need to prepare.

there is nothing wrong with that, but, seriously speaking, it is
better to get by without electricity for a few hours rather than risk
having the engine destroyed by ash. Stockings are unlikely to help any
more than a paper filter would. Ash is extremely fine.

I have missed quite a few threads here. I am curious, what kind of
generator did you end up having?

May we have some details? Is this an auxiliary filtration system ahead of
the normal air filter?

{Rant on} Yes, but if people would just TRIM, they could put their reply in
the proper context (be it top, middle, or bottom) and you still would have to do
very little scrolling. {Rant off}

A**hole. Now you've screwed up the quoting so that it's impossible to
follow. And because you topposted, you didn't feel any need to trim
_anything_. No, I don't scroll down. Anybody who can't be bothered to
trim can't be adding anything important to the conversation.

Try googling for "netiquette".

Read http://exodus2006.com/yellow.htm
The chances are small, but before 2001, who would have believed terrorists
would simultaneously fly 747s into the Twin Towers?

The unbelievable is an artifact of human attitudes.

Frankly, I don't care where you post, as long as it makes sense and as long
as you TRIM. Inflexible top posting makes no more sense than inflexible bottom
posting. It is all about context. Ignore context, and you will be the
invisible poster. As always, it is your choice.

Open minds likes yours don't come to these newsgroups very often. I agree
with most of what you say but I am also tired of people whining about top
posting being evil because they have a prehistoric browser or ideas.

Top posting allows "no trimming" and still works. Trimming is polite to
people with limited bandwidth. Top posting allows headers to stay with the
tect they represent. I don't post attachments beofre my text in email,
business documents, legal transactions or newsgroups.
