Hello again,

I'm looking for retail stores in the Baltimore area that carry
Kill-A-Watt meters. Online sources are easier and cheaper for most, but
for various reasons, I *only* deal in cash. Can anyone help?

Thankee,

As I understand it, Radio Shack in the US is a distributor for that
P3International product.

DJ,

Thanks for the heads up! I haven't shopped there ever since they
became Cellular Shack (tm), but it looks like I need to revisit my
decision.

Yep, they're pretty sad up here, too. I went in there for some blocking
diodes one day, and the kid came over, looked at me, and the wall I was
standing in front of, and said "well, you probably know alot more about
that stuff than I do..." and walked away.

But yessum, if I had wanted to discuss cell phones or remote control
toys, he'd be my guy I'd bet ;-).

The Radio Shacks here (NYC) used to carry them but for
some reason or another stopped. I haven't looked lately
so can't say for sure if they've started again.

I worked for Radio Shack in Virginia Beach, VA. while in college. We
were discouraged from knowing anything (except company BS). I really
enjoyed leaving that place

Actually, I had a similar experience here. Was looking through the
soldering tools/access. and the guy asked if I needed any help. When I
explained what I was looking for, he said something like, "Well, you're
looking in the area that I would suggest, but I wouldn't know it if I saw
it." Wished me luck and offered to let me look it up on-line if I needed to
order it.

Sorry to hear of your experience.

I worked for Radio Shack while in college and worked for 2 excellent
managers and 2 others that were so-so.

None of them discouraged me from learning all I could about the products
because that's how we increased our sales. This was back in the days of 555
timers, CB radio and the TR-DOS Model 1 level 1. They also encouraged me to
buy company stock with the ESOP plan. Even though I only worked there from
mid-76 to mid-80 I've never regretted it. Kept those shares of stock too.
