In Ottawa, Canada, most homes are well insulated for winter and the snow
will not melt off the roof. This is good as snow has alot of air trapped in
it and adds to the insulation of the roof but it also renders roof colour
moot. Given the heat wave we're having now, we'll probably look at
light-coloured roof materials for when we have to reshingle.
