Generator Break-in

| Folks,
Someone on this group once wrote up a very nice procedure for gently
breaking in a new generator, something like running it with a light
load, (seventy five watt light only for the first five hours or so?),
until the engine works itself in.
Obiviously I don't recall the exact details.
Looked through the Google archives and couldn't find it.
Anybody have a copy of it?
Thanks

Diesel or gasoline motor? If diesel, running it with a very light load
is not recommended.... they don't like it. You should change the oil and
check the tappet clearances after the first 3-5 hours running.

Check the manual. Nearly all engines had to have a similar procedure for
break-in. Nowadays, many of them are are broken-in at the factory.
