Chernobyl was a fissionable bomb material producing reactor, not a
power reactor, with unbelievably poor design safety even by Soviet
standards.

No Western power reactor will ever have that type of catastrophe. They
may well have a disaster, but not of that type. It's like air
disasters-they will happen, but not like the Hindenburg.

Nuclear power is not absolutely safe, but it is the safest power in
current service-which doesn't speak all that well of the others.
