Was thinking about looking into geothermal heat pumps. Ground temp
here is about 50 degrees and we keep the house at 70 degrees. That
gives a theoretical COP of 532/(532-510)=24.2

To be more realistic lets say the hot coil is 105 degrees and the
ground coil is 35 degrees to draw the heat out of the ground. That
would give a COP of 565/(565-495)=8

Can anyone here tell me if that is in the right ballpark? Thanks
