Trade Shows / Home visits etc in USA

Hi All
I am living in New Zealand on a alternative energy system that I have
built largely from recycled parts.
During 2007 I plan to visit the States to look around at what goes on
there dates are at this stage vary flexible but likely around mid
year.(our winter )
What I would like is if anyone knows of any trade shows etc that I
should plan to visit.
Also in NZ we often accomodate people in exchange for work and culture
exchange, anyone out there interested in negotiting similar
arrangements.(Retired Electrical Engineer used to practical work) .
