| Nobody's complaining about milk being over $3.00 a gallon? What's a
gallon of good single malt Scotch running these days? At $70 a litre
I think it's more. And what are they paying for petrol in Europe?
It's been a lot higher than the US for years and years. It's all
relative.
The real issue is that we need to wake up and change the way we think
here in the good old USA. We need to find alternate sources of
energy, and use them more responsibly, and stop viewing ourselves as
some sort of chosen people.
The oil is drying up kids. It's going away. It's not coming back.
And we're so screwed up now that we depend on petroleum products to
build alternate energy sources. You need big earth movers and such to
build a nuclear power plant. They use plastic for solar panels and
windmills.
Bio fuels baby. Put American farmers back to work. Walk away from
the Middle East and let them knock themselves out trying to figure out
how to feed themselves without petroleum income, just like they were
doing for 4,000 years before we stuck our big old foot in it. Leave
the kennel to Lassie.
Doesn't matter if it's Democrats or Republicans in office. Two sides
of the same beat up, dirty old coin. Not a new idea anywhere in that
system. Just recycled soundbites to get them re-elected and in
POWER. And don't fool yourselves, perceived power is what it's all
about in their pointy little heads. If they wanted to help people
they would be down on the corner distributing food and blankets to the
homeless. It's not even about money. It costs them millions just to
get into office any more. It's the perception that once elected they
have power.
If we could only harness the methane that must be emanating from THAT
pile.
