That sounds entirely sensible.

A bit of computer DSP would allow you to choose all manner of engine sounds you
wanted your EV to replicate. Inline 6 or V8 anyone ?

I never had any problem when driving my electric conversion Fiat. It
used a DC brush motor and sounded like a sewing machine. The only time
you didn't hear it was when at a stop. I've driven IC engined cars
that were quieter.
