| Our garden shed is about 100 feet from the house - and that's
where I run our little EU200 when/if - using a 10 gauge extension
cord to the house.
One thought is to run a line from the house's NG line underground
to a point beneath the garden shed, and then have a
coupling/valve just above ground or maybe in a concrete well
below ground - giving the option of running something in the shed
on NG by connecting a flexible hose to the coupling/valve.
The zinger is that the gas service meter is inside the house on
one side (front) of the house and the garden shed is on the other
(back) side of the house.
Does this make any sense at all from a gas engineer's
perspective?
If not, how about a second dedicated gas service coming from the
street to the outbuilding: separate meter and all?
First thing that comes to my mind is that it had better be done
right - underground gas leaks, foundation infiltration, and all
that...
The end goal would be a reliable, uninterupted source of an
alternative fuel to gasoline in the event of a major storm-caused
or other electrical failure.
