Hello all.

I am currently working a second job as a floor man in a
business building. I have 48 floors to cover. Since I only do the
bathrooms it's not to bad.

But I am having a problem with the grout. You can see in some
of the sections that the grout is supposed to be pink instead of
black. We have purchased an acid based soap that works somewhat but
is rather expensive and rather toxic to breath.

So looking for a cheap and healthier way to do this. Any
ideas?

Buy the strongest vinegar you can find. Or, a 15% acetic acid
solution may work. You can buy acetic acid from a chemical supply
house. A product containing oxalic acid (CLR or Bar Keeper's Friend)
might work too. Applying with a brush, rather than a spray, is
better for your lungs. Use rubber gloves.

I am in agrreement with Phisherman. I could add this and that to improve the
general sparkle which you seem to desire, but have no reason to object to
advisements given. I am, however, puzzled as to why anyone, in this day and
age, would wish to clean 48 floors all in the one push, I can only assume
this is in a paid capacity, and you require such funding. It would seem to
me, a man who has never actually worked in the 'traditional' sense. that
there are many young and possibly less established older people out there
cleaning away, professionally, and probably performing other menial duties
I'd rather not even think about, let alone considering for an option as a
2nd job. I'd not do the first, but then I don't need to, which doesn't take
away the fact that Phisherman does, on the occasion, serve his purpose here.

just wanted to thank you for the help you have given me. And yes I
knew this wasn't the alt.business.cleaning group so I beg your
forgiveness on that.
The information that you gave me did lead to some answers but
it seems that the best thing to do was use a high power sprayer with
hot water. It cleaned out the years of dirt buildup but not the grout
itself. That was where the cleaner came back into play.
