Insulation above fireplace for storage

| Quick question, does anyone have any idea how to approach insulating a
cabinet that will be hung above a mantle?
I would actually like to put an LCD TV in there, with room for the
electrical components, but I am not sure if this can be adequately insulated
against heat from the fireplace in the Winter. Any ideas on this? Thanks, C

Depending upon the height of your mantle, this might not be a good idea from
the standpoint of acceptable viewing angles for flat screen TVs...
Espeically if you were to choose DLPs for the flat screen TV... LCDs are a
bit more forgiving though, but not as good as CRTs... Generally, you want
your line of sight to be at around the 2/3rds to halfway point up the screen
as it relates to your normal viewing position (usually sitting down)...
Assuming you still want to put it there, with the proper amount of
insulation or exhaust fans, you could make it work... Don't forget the heat
from the front of the mantle though...
Then again, I live in Houston, so fireplaces tend to just be decoration
around here anyway...

| Keep in mind that heat is the enemy of most electronic devices.
