Can anyone provide a way to get a good quick estimate of framing time
(manhours) for typical wall frame assemblies? I imagine contractors
have developed good rules of thumb, such as manhours per linear foot of
wall frame or per piece of framing in an assembly. I am looking for a
decent way to assess the impact of doing things various ways.

R.S.Means makes a whole series of estimating manuals that would answer your
question. They cost about $50 -$100 each. Google R.S. Means to find them.
