| Hey everyone. I am new to posting at this forum but I have browsed here
for quite a while.
I had to post to complain and to ask for advice. I have only had my
2005 Chevy Silverado 1500 for a year and it has been nothing but
problems. I am fed up with my Chevy and I am thinking about a Ford or
maybe even a Titan. I am starting to do a lot of research online about
the different trucks and I would love your advice or thoughts on which
truck I could use to replace my problem plagued Chevy.
No offense to you Chevy owners out there, I just happened to have had a
bad experience and I don't want to deal with it any more.
Thanks in advance for your advice!

I have no brand loyalty, I've bought em all (American). But I have always
ordered my trucks, and have never had any lemon-type problems. Others I know
just buy them off the lot (and when the sales guy tells you that he's
"found" a truck for you" you are still buying off the lot). It seems to be
about a 50-50 shot at getting a lemon or a dependable truck with those
off-the-lot deals. The brand doesn't seem to be an issue, it happens with
all American brands. Now the foreign brands don't let you actually order a
truck. You take what you have available on shore, so they are all "off the
lot", but it doesn't seem to matter with the foreign trucks, the quality of
build is just better. I haven't bought a new truck in 5 years and with all
the changes in the industry since then maybe you can't order anything
American either now, since they all come off shore.
I drive a Dodge now. It was cheapest, spec-for-spec at the time. It is a
clunky, gas guzzling, sluggish, work horse that can't be killed. Raw meat,
no parsley, know what I mean?

| For years I was a Chevy loyalist, but finally got fed up with transmissions
going out at 110,00 miles, water pumps forever going out, radiators going
bad at 90,000 miles, fuel pumps trashed at 75,000 miles. Now before anybody
says maintenance is the key, I am religious about maintaining my truck. I
work from my truck therefore it has to be reliable. That being said I
compared my Chevrolets to friends Fords, Dodges, other Chevys and finally
Toyotas. My buddy with the Toyota won out. He convinced me to get a Tundra
and with a few minor complaints, I love it. I wouldn't recommend it for
heavy towing but other than that it has proven to be a fantastic truck.
Over the last 100K miles it has remained as squeak free, maintenance free,
and as reliable as any truck I've ever owned. My friends now has 215K with
just regular oil changes. I would, and have recommended the Tundra to
others and to date know of no one that doesn't love them.

I have had many trucks ,All makes and good and bad...but the 2001 Ford
Lariat 150 4x4 I have now has been the best one...The info and tips,
etc on the ford truck site I'm a member of makes dealing with any
issue easy...Try it to see what you think if a Ford is what you need ,
what model and features you want...There is a reason that Ford trucks
sell the most...Good luck...
