| Question: How do I use AGTEK (Site98) with parallel port dongle key on
Windows XP Pro SP2?
Previous Setup:
Windows 98 SE
Parallel Port Dongle
Graco Board (USB)
Worked.
New Setup:
Windows XP Pro SP2
Parallel Port Dongle
Graco Board (USB)
Does not Worked.
Called AGTEK and the TECH said it would not work because of Windows XP
emulates DOS and Windows 98 runs on true DOS.
Microsoft said it is an AGTEK question.
Does anyone know a way to do this without purchasing $20,000 worth on
hardware and software?
Thanks,
Doug

Did you upgrade your Windows98 box to XP, or is this a new machine and
install of AGTEK?

Since Windows XP does not contain the needed parallel interupts the
dongle requires, you will not be able to use with this key with any
Windows version newer than 98 or ME. Agtek does offer a patch that they
license from another company that they will sell you for about $6,000.
It wouldn't cost much more than that to upgrade to Earthwork 3D, which
comes with a USB key. Or maybe they could trade out the parallel key
for a USB key.

| Just do what I did for a system that needed Windows 98. Go to a
dual-boot Windows 98 and XP setup, run your "Special" software in Win98
and use a hard drive that is common to both systems for your files so
you can access from both systems. B.G.
