| Hi planted some garlic a while back and the toips are all yellowing
and starting to die back (rather well on the way) but the bulbs are
tiny.
Have kept them watered well.
Any idea what went wrong?
Have grown good sized garlic in the same bed before.

I had that too. No idea why, I was growing them in a big tub, and when I
went to harvest them the whole pot was just roots, hardly any soil and small
bulbs.

Two things.
This year is very bad for "Rust" disease, mine get it every year about
harvest time but normally garlic just shrugs it off and the crop is hardly
affected but this year it's different.
Secondly, to get good sized heads garlic should be planted in the autumn,
any time during September and October so they start into growth before the
winter and can continue growing during any warm spell and get away early
come spring. A longer growing season means bigger heads.
