I have grown these for the first time this year. They are doing quite well,
but many of the red ones are producing seed heads. I have removed these but
will the onions still form OK?

Thanks for any help received

Pete

hi Pete,

in my experience onions bolt because the watering is uneven (I had this
myself last year). Picking the flowers off seems to work, and the onions
are still OK, but I couldn't work out if they were small because they
had bolted, or small because of the uneven watering ..

Generally the bolted ones were smaller than the unbolted ones.

Hope this helps
