Author Problem With Hibiscus Plant - Leaves yellowing, blotchy, dropping. Please Help :-)

I dont' know if this is the right newwsgroup to ask, but I really need help.
I have an Hibiscus that produced lots of flowers on four separate branches.
It has started to drop leaves, sometimes as many as 10-12 a day and is
looking really bad. No flowers for about a week or so now. All the leaves go
the same way -- blotchy spots, green-yellow, yellow, and then falling.
Leaves also have dots and splotches on them. Some felt sticky. I sprayed all
leaves top and bottom with "Trounce" an environmental testicide agisnt
spider mites, aphids, etc. That seems to have slowed the process, but not
stopped it. This happened before and the Trounce treatment stopped it for
about three months and hte plant really flourished and grew.

The plant is in a big pot, usually has sufficient water (sometimes it gets a
bit dry because I forget to water for a day or two), seems healthy
otherwise, good soil, no odour, self-watering pot that you just fill the
bottom and it wicks up. The plant is located in a south facing window nine
floors up, often shaded but still gets lots of light through the blinds. It
gets fed with a weak (1/2) solution every watering. I have another Hibiscus
in another room and it's doing fine.

Please help. Thanks.

PS. I'm in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada where it's been a warm/hot (low/mid
30s C) summer, but AC brings the inside temp to 21-25 C.

you can email if you want to -- hibiscus at dolman period ca -- that's "ca",
not "com".
