Flowering date palm

| A phoenix canariensis in my garden is flowering and I've not seen
one flower in this country before. Is this a rare occurence in the
UK? I live in London.

It seems that is the closest I'm going to get to a reply to my
query, so I'll assume flowering date palms in the UK aren't
unusual. Thanks for your reply.

Down here they flower regularly once they reach the right size/age, but I do
not often see ripe seed (but that may be because something eats it)
