What is this Please!!!!!

Anyone!?

Its about 2-3 feet high, the stem is about 3 inches in diametre with a
redish colour to it at the base. This changes to green as it goes up
the stem.It has green leaves which are similar to what you get on a
celery , but larger.

I wish i could add a pic of it put the smallest one i have is 133k and
the limit is100k! Bugger!!

I could always email you a pic i s'pose.

Try reducing the photo in size - plenty of free applications out there to do
so, and then post it somewhere. A 100kb photo is pretty unfriendly to
non-broadband users anyway.

alt.binaries.pictures.gardens is a newsgroup for garden pictures (aint I
clever!) many contributors from all over the world and some wonderful fotos
are posted.

try there for posting a picture. then point urglers from here to view the
fotos.

irfanview is 1 application which will reduce the image size and its free to
download.

It could be any of a number of umbeliferous (carrot/celery family)
plants. Cow parsley, rough chervil, wild angelica, hemlock, giant
hogweed, scots lovage all have purplish stems. Could possibly be
something else entirely - it would be easier to identify once it
flowers.

Can't you use some bog standard drawing software to snip it? Or re-save
it using a lower resolution file type? Or try tinypic (google it) -
don't know whether that has an upper limit, or post it to a newsgroup
that accepts pictures and post a reference here?

Or take another picture, setting the resolution on your camera a bit
lower.

It sounds vaguely like the impatiens that grows on river banks. I had
one which developed a huge trunk which was reddish at the bottom.
