| Good bye all of you I have been told in no uncertain terms that my posts
are unwelcome - even though our climate here in Vancouver BC Canada are very
similar to the south of England. I would be interested in the reason for
this - or is this too much to ask Jean Vancouver BC Canada

Oh Goodness, who on earth told you that? Rot, stay here, my posts are
from France and everyone here is very kind and tolerant of my
inexpertise. Do stay Clarissa.

According to Google Groups, no-one on URG has responded to you in such a
fashion - at least as far back as I searched. Who was it? If it was by
private email then I would ignore it, but I cannot find such a posting on
URG. There are people here posting from all over the world, and provided
they understand that we in the UK don't have climate "zones" then as far as
I'm aware they have always been made very welcome.

The climate in Vancouver is very like ours here in south Devon. I have
friends living there and the similarities are striking. They sometimes get
snow that we don't often get but rarely get frosts that stop them growing
most/much of what we grow here. Anyway, we have someone who posts from New
York for heaven's sake. Why on earth shouldn't someone from Vancouver post?
While I appreciate this is a UK centred group, we can all often learn
something about plants and planting from posters all over the place! Keep
posting!

Who told you that you are not welcome? There are no such messages in
this group. Was it email? If so, just ignore it or kill filter the

I post here with questions from time to time although the climate here in
Calgary is more severe than yours (we have snow on the ground atm) and have
been treated with civility and friendliness.
Has all the rain you are having been getting you down?

Well, perhaps some computer wizard will find out who it is. There can't be
a stampede of candidates! Pretty silly whoever it is. I'm forwarding their
posts to uni.berlin so we'll see if they come up with an ID. Forging
someone else's identity is pretty heavily frowned upon AIUI, so with luck,
they'll lose their account.

If you are referring to the bogus U.R.G charter posted recently,
Zrffntr-VQ: <1z8q3u6num6q8.qqqczjgdfk5d$.qyt@40ghqr.arg>
(ROT 13 as I don't want to give them any more publicity than
necessary).
Please be assured it is a forgery. It was posted from alt.net the
veritable home of spammers, scammers and mischief makers
The correct charter can be seen here :
http://www.usenet.org.uk/uk.rec.gardening.html
Please don't go. If you go, the delinquents win and we all lose.

Blimey - you mean someone actually *reads* charter posts, forged or
otherwise? How quaint.
