No wonder CONservation hooliganism has gained such a terrible foothold
these days. Just where do these idiots come from, and why do people
even bother to listen to them!

THREE deer have been spotted out in the open on Darwen Moors,
surprising wildlife experts.

Conservational Reserver for Central and West Lancashire at The
Wildlife Trust, Dave Dunlop, said deer were usually very shy.

He said: "I'm surprised. They usually stay under cover and only come
into the open at night. I have never seen them on the Pennines before.
They were probably Roe Deer which are particularly shy."

The deer population is generally considered to be rising as the number
of complaints made by people about damage to their gardens and trees
from deer increase.

Mr Dunlop said one theory could be the deer are roe bucks which were
forced out of their group by a more dominant male.

He said: "I know roe bucks are the most ferocious of deer in terms of
their territory so they might have had some rival males and they might
have had no alternative but to run for the moor."

The three deer were snapped by Lee Walters, 38, of Park Road as he
walked up to Darwen Tower last Thursday with wife Donna, 37, at about
9.30am.

Mr Walters said: "We live on Park Road and regularly walk up to the
moors and tower via Printshop Lane but have never seen deer before."

Please inform your wildlife 'experts' that deer ONLY come out at night
is totally wrong - deer especially roe deer (as the picture seems to
portray)love to sun themselves. They are most likely to be seen at
dawn and dusk but it is quite common to find them lying down against a
sheltering hedge enjoying the sun at any time of the day.
