Thanks David. This probably means that yet another packet has disappeared in the
post.

What happens to all the stuff lost in the post?
I mail a terrific amount out, I have a mailing of 117 going out today and
over 900 on Wednesday/Thursday. I 'KNOW' some will vanish into the 'Black
Hole', but where is that 'Black Hole'?

I suspect its not just one!
When we get something through our door that is not addressed to us we put
it out in a dry place for the postman to pick up the next day, I know a
lot of people that do not, they just bin it, I am also surprised at the
amount of mail some people through away unopened that is addressed to
them

In our opinion it is stolen.

We are no longer surprised at the amount of mail we get that has already been
opened.

One way round that is to put a strip of Sellotape on the flap, BUT, that is
an open invitation that there is 'something interesting' inside. I quite
often receive an envelope with the Sellotape on there, and I say to myself,
'There's a cheque in there'. Usually right, sometimes notes!! :-((

I dislike the self adhesive envelopes which have become the norm nowadays,
difficult to find the dry glue ones. So what I do, I line the self adhesive
flap with UHU glue. Invisible and impossible to open without tearing.

I can;t see the point of me putting a strip of selotape on an envelope that I
never received.
