That's hype and misinformation, just like RealtyTrac. I've been trying
to get a handle on pre-foreclosures for about the last 3 months.
There's nothing easy about it. It takes time, expense, patience, and
perseverence, not to mention a tolerance for risk. And when it comes
to contacting the distressed homeowners, you may be surprised to find
out that they have minds of their own.

If there is so much easy money to be made here why do so many banks take
short sales? Why don't the REO departments fix and flip every home? If the
armies of MBA corporate suits have done a profitability analysis and have
found the fix and flip on the garbage piles vacated by people that stopped
maintaining them long before they stopped paying their mortgages would cost
more in the long run, doesn't mean you can't cut corners, use sweat equity
and unlicensed contractors and turn a profit, provided of course the other
leins on the property don't eat up the profits.

Sounds like a great product.
