My Wife and I are looking for locations and info on real estate in the
Orange County area. We presently live in Oceanside, CA and are looking to
relocate to an area north of us, between Irvine and Long Beach. We want to
find a location that is close to Retail stores, yet far enough away fom
people that we can find comfortable suburban living.

Since we live in Oceanside, CA we are close to Carlsbad, CA. We have grown
to love the quaint, quiet, and somewhat upscale environment found here.
Relocating to a town north of Oceanside offerring the same or similar
qualities as that of Carlsbad is what we are looking for. Any one have any
info on where we might find this type of location?

I been living in Orange County all my life. I grew up in Irvine when there
were acres and acres of orange groves. I lived there for over 27 years. I've
also lived in San Diego for a little bit as well. Oceanside is unique and if
you're looking to find something that has that kind of feel or vibe the
closest thing that I can think of in OC is Laguna Beach. OC is
overdeveloped. San Diego is more spread out and has a "slower" feel to OC.
Developments are moving south. If you can bear the commute into OC I would
say stay in Oceanside because I don't think you'll really find a comparable
feel in OC. OC's cool but it's more crowded. So you will have to sacrifice
for one or the other.
