Author Refusal to pay rent

Situation:

1. Been renting house for 4 years under a verbal month to month agreement
2. Landlord sold house right from under us with no warning whatsoever
3. Real estate broker came over to show house to prospects
4. Rent is "due"

Why the FUCK should this landlord get a fucking dime from us any more? The
mere act of selling the house (and/or **trying** to) indicates the XXXXX
wants out of the renting business!

Both these clowns live about 500 miles away and expect us to play happy
little house show hosts.

I need a strategy. This is BULLSHIT

Let me see if I understand the facts:

You chose to rent a home rather than buying.
You chose to NOT negotiate and obtain a written long term lease, which
could easily include a "first right of refusal" regarding the sale of
the property.
You ARE occupying the premises, and therefore benefiting from its use.

Your local Landlord & Tenant code will clearly establish the amount of
notice required for you to move out, (typically 30 days) as well as the
amount of notice to be given prior to the Landlord entering the premises.

Failure to pay your rent will in all likelyhood result in YOUR credit
report getting screwed up when you are sued for unpaid rent and damages,
causing you YEARS of grief and aggravation. As you point out,
"Landlording" IS a business, and even though your owners live some
distance away, you can bet they have an attorney in YOUR neighborhood.

I suggest you check your own closet for some big red floppy shoes.

You should make an offer on the place. Or do you really like renting that
much?

You could try to buy the house yourself! If you have to be evicted and
physically removed, please don't have a job because you can be sued and
judgement against you can be held for tripple damages in most states!!!!!
For every $100 you owe you can be forced to pay $300, which isn't going to
be fun while living under a bridge somewhere

This "XXXXX" still ownes the property and has property rights. Renting does
NOT give you rights in the property. However, having to be forcefully
evicted will insure that up to 21% of your take home pay can be consficated
until the debt is satisified and make renting somewhere else almost
impossible. Be sure you take careful aim at the middle of the foot you are
fixing to shoot yourself in

Why do I have a feeling that having to deal with you is probably the reason
the property is for sale?

This is why renting a house is such a bad idea. Because as owners we have to
deal with people like you!

First of all it wasn't nice of her to sell the house out without telling you
first, but so what - she owned it you and are only R.E.N.T.I.N.G! (That only
means that you were paying to use the house...thats it.

The best bet seriously I think is this - Work your XXX off for 5 years,
drive a junky old car and pack away every dime until you can afford to drop
$50,000 for a down payment and then you won't have any problems. Thats
probably what this "XXXXX" has done. Now she wants to sell it, rightfully
get out of the renting business and finally proffit from all her hard
work....what a biiiiitch!

Idiot.
