Hi,
I would like to ask you guys, I just bought home theater in box, and
it's suggested in the manual that the FRONT left and right speakers to
be placed beside the TV and my question is that, is it okay for me to
hang the speaker up high close to the ceilling (same height with the
rear Speaker) without reducing any sound quality comming out of the 5.1
Speaker system?
because i have 2 years old boy and kind of scared my boy would touch or
play with the speaker.

thanks so much.

1. Yes, it will compromise sound quality. Proximity to the celing
will affect the sound and the speakers should be at ear- and/or
screen-level for best imaging.
2. It may be your best bet for the time being if you really fear
damage to the speakers or the child.

Yea it will, but centers are generally a compromise anyway, usually
having to sit on top of the display,
of under the display in the stand. Get it as low as you can and make
sure to aim it right at your head
when sitting. And in your receiver be sure to change the distance to
your seated position. Use a tape
measure. That way at least you will get the arrival of sound even with
the L/R mains.

Voices in the front channels on movies will be seeming to come from the
ceiling, instead of the TV screen where the actor's mouth is. Will that
bother you?
(The rear channels do not have this problem because they do not contain
dialogue, just spacious sound effects.)
