Author Replacing broken Jacuzzi toilet tank.

About a year ago, I installed a Jacuzzi toilet, BN30-BN31 (numbers from
under the tank lid). This is one of the more modern looking toilets, with
the tapering, slender tank. The tank has developed a crack along the back,
about 2/3rds of the way to the top, and is leaking. The local home
improvement store guy says that all the modern toilets use their own spacing
for the tank bolts and/or size for the tank "hole," and that only a Jacuzzi
tank will match up. That would be fine, IF I could find one. Is it true
that I can't use any other manufacturer's tank on this toilet? Any other
cost-effective advice? I can get a similar new toilet for less than $175,
so I dont want to spend more than $100 or so to "save" this one, if it can
be done.

Thanks in advance for any info!
