| Hello,
I just moved into an apartment. There is a green box on a telephone
pole outside my window. I'm guessing it's an electral type junction
box, but i'm not sure what it's called. My question: Is there anyway
this could be hazardous? I mean can it emit any kind of hazardous
emissions? Or is it safe to be around this thing. Thanks for any info.

You really have to figure out what kind of cables are going into it to
figure out what it is for but I doubt it is hazardous in any way ...
....unless you have something to hide ;-)

If the pole is soaked in creosote to prevent rot and insect damage, that
could be dangerous. Creosote is no good.

| Sounds like a PMT (pole mounted trans)
If it was not safe then they would not put it there.
