I have a single-phase 1/8 HP AC motor. I want to vary the speed of it. All the Variable Frequency Drives I come across output 3-Phase and I don't believe a rheostat will be effective in this case (pump motor). Any idea on what would be the simplest and most efficient method to vary the speed of this motor?
