GE makes a precise control model that you are discussing. The power
stays on constantly but at a lower wattage, as opposed to other models
that are at 100% power for varying lenghts of time. The feature is
called the Precise Digital Control System. The range model is the
Profile JB988. It is also available on a 30" cooktop (Profile PP950)
and a 36" cooktop (Profile PP980).
