Asking questions that cannot be answered without making numerous assumptions
is a bad hobbit to get into, Frodo

This is one of those questions like "how much does it cost for GM to
make a car"
Somebody knows but you won't get a straight answer.

How much do they make (MWH) and how much do they ultimately bill? That
is the efficiency.

GM doesn't know that answer!!

Pretty efficient if the transmission is in high gear. ;-)

What are you looking at? Primary source (coal, oil, water, uranium, etc) to
consumer? Total generator output to major loads (transmission- typically 95%
or thereabouts on average), subtransmission and distribution to your home?

Hmmm.. I have a work associate that pays less than $100 a year,
because his meter runs backwards most of the time, due to his seven solar
panels, and other electrical gen devices. I wonder what his figures
are...

Can't wait for that guy's carbon bucky ball membrane cells to come out.
They don't even need perpendicular ray strikes to be efficient! Cheap to
make too!

Bet he over-prices them by two orders of magnitude though... it's the
American way, man...
