To The Group & Lurkers

| There was a time when one could come here and everyone behaved well and
were curteous and helpful towards one another..Now, we can't even post a
question or comment without someone attacking with humiliating non
essential commentary.
I never said I was an Engineer, but I am very good at what I do in
Related Fields. Truth is If becoming one makes one so abtuse and rude
then I do want to be one either.
If anyone wants to continue to annoy and upset the group and it's
visitors then some one Responsible should do something about it...I
meant what I said & I maybe encarcerated otherwise., but I will stand up
to any foolhearted person bent on making life harder than it already is.
Like Indium in a semiconductor I will stand against any imposing bad
current.
It's up to you, if you decide to burn me out., this group will lose me
forever.

Grow up Roy, if you find that a particular person is so
offensive to you, it's very easy to setup a news reader
kill file so you never see their posts again. Usenet has
a wide variety of posters of all beliefs and temperament.
Most people are fairly decent but there are many incandescent
sphincters out there who don't deserve to breath, just
like in real life. I doubt anyone is holding you down and
forcing you to read distasteful posts. I would suggest that
you develop a thicker skin.

There is a group that attempts to hi jack and destroy any meaningful
communication at newsgroups. They are experts in anonymity and
enticing posters into flame wars. That is how they get their kicks.
They meet at other groups, forums, and chat rooms bragging about how
they disturbed someone. They will go as far as building a webpage
about the person they are harassing if they think that will bring
further grief. They also nominate and vote on candidates for various
categories such as the hook line and sinker award. This is their game
and no one can stop them. Some have their own news server to protect
themselves from cancellation threats or abuse reports. These posters
are the maggots of the Usenet and as long as unmoderated newsgroups
exist they will be around. My suggestion is get real nasty with these
scumbags, ignore them, or block them. If you have the resources and
time you can find them but it costs and takes a lot of time. I found
one of them, Kevin A. Cannon, after paying for the investigative
services provided by several sites. He and his group have been
abusing posters for well over five years.

You bring most of it on yourself. You just need to stop posting completely
off the wall answers to technical questions. When someone asks a technical
and you have legitimate input, provide it. If you don't, then avoid
posting. If you post something incorrect and it gets pointed out, accept it
as a learning opportunity and go on.

pop ups, adware & spyware to mention a few - So, for now., I'd rather do
without the vulnerability.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Usenet.
As others have said, a thick skin is essential to any meaningful
participation in newsgroups, chat rooms, and so on. There's always someone
around that likes to stir the pot. Trick is, don't be the pot.
You also loose all right to complain if you participate in the insults.
This, of course, doesn't stop you one bit, but there will be a profound
shortage of sympathy from others, and may encourage even more unwelcome
comments.
I've learned a lot from folks here and elsewhere, and I've been the target
of a lot of foolish nonsense. This is a sharp contrast to other places,
where I have to put up with crap, and the only thing I learn is how much
crap I can put up with before ripping my own guts out.

Let's keep the Idiosyncrasies to a minimum, less we lose interest & our
objectivity on the matter and common goals at hand.
