Ed & Co. can say all you want - it is very obvious that the so called
"civil" question posted about what code applies to tools was meant to be
disruptive & to annoy or otherwise test me., it is out of the realm of
Flickering Lights and poses no real effort on presenting a solution to
the OP.

If anyone is disappointed with my response, that is their problem and
they should pull out their copy of the NEC & look it up, seek
professional psychiatric help., or as they say in the field., put up or
shut up, far from, " shut the fuck up ! " & quit bugging..

I offer no apologies.....since not once was one received from any of you
after berating me and trying to make me look bad in this group. I Don't
Give a Damn.

I am through being annoyed & judged by people jabbing with hidden
agendas and nonsensical muttering about my character & professional
intentions - even when they disguise their intent with smart looking
false & off topic queries & commentary.

In arguments where one party says something is present (as you say is
so regarding the requirement of an insulated screwdriver in the NEC)
and the other says it is merely absent (they didn't quite go that far,
but implied either that, or that they are lazy, by asking for a cite),
you cannot defend your assertion by saying "look it up". The only
defense you could make is by citing the specific location in the NEC.
But you certainly have the right to let the assertion stand on its own
and decline to defend it.

I did think it a bit odd that NEC would specify the tools to use. But
I also did not care to look it up since I would have no idea where in
that big document it might be. And it might not be all in one place.
It could be an interpretation that does not specifically say "insulated
screwdriver" but instead says "appropropriate safeguards" or some such.
So even doing a search on a PDF file might be no good.

Many times I will say what I think I read in the NEC (I have not read it
all, but I have read a lot of it, and even remember a lot of what I read).
In cases where I think someone specifically has it wrong, I do try to find
what I think I read, so I can counter them with specific paragraphs and
maybe even quote it.

OTOH, I think using an insulated screwdrive is a very wise thing for an
electrician to do. I also think an electrician would know this (although
there are some "cowboy electricians" that won't ... I watched one hook up
a meter to a live 600 volt junction once ... fortunately no big boom).

And ... IMHO ... anyone who does not figure out for themselves that they
need to use an insulated screwdriver shouldn't be working there even if
they follow the suggestion to use one. And shouldn't they also be using
eye protection and even arc energy protection?

I found the question to be unworthy of an answer., whether it's
specified in the NEC or not is unimportant - The matter is closed.

Oh, no. No one is disappointed (other than perhaps your mother) in
you Roy at all. On the contrary, we've gotten to expect your
nonsense.

A little on the paranoid side there Roy? No need to be paranoid.
You *are* stupid. People here are just trying to keep stupid
quarantined.

Bigot? You've just proven my point, or rather the one on top of
your shoulders.
