OTOH, http://electriciancalculators.com/ does not have any spam and has
better calculators.

Yeah, and it doesn't make any money either.

http://electriciancalculators.com site is plain garbage. It is not
worth spending time at this site.

Would you mind sharing your reasons why? Is your site better?

I see the original post for the engineering calculators came from
India. This is interesting. Did someone outsource the writing of the
programs and got a little less than they expected? It looks that way
because the programs look like academia at its worse. I wrote the
programs at electriciancalculators.com while living in Alaska after
having worked 32 years as an IBEW Union electrician and electrical
administrator. I wrote programs that I could have used on many jobs
that I worked as a foreman or administrator where I had to do onsite
calculations by hand. The program that reads Table 310.16 was very
difficult indeed to write because it required knowing how to read the
table precisely. Problem 5 stated below was particularly informative
since it required following the rules to the "T" which usually does
result in a different answer if the rules are not followed, but in
this case there are different answers. The raceway fill calculators
duplicate the NEC Tables for every problem that I have tested. I see
that the engineering calculator page does not include either a Table
310.16 or raceway fill calculator.

I wrote the programs at electriciancalculators.com and have never
heard a single complaint until now. What do you not like, seshu?
I have tested the programs against examples found in the NFPA NEC
Handbook, McGraw Hill Electrician's Handbook, and Thomas Harman's
Guide to the National Electrical code and the respective programs
solves all problems correctly.

Example 5 from McGraw-Hill's NEC Handbook

Given:

Branch Circuit with following parameters.

100 ampere continuous load
75 degree C terminal temperature rating
Type THHN and THW insulated conductors
Four current carrying copper conductors in a raceway
Majority of load is nonlinear

Solution :

No. 1 AWG THHN or No. 1/0 AWG THW conductors protected by a 125 ampere
overcurrent protective device (OCPD)

I like the calculators on electriciancalculators.com. Very nicely done and
enough detailed notes to explain the results and methods.
