Hello,

We make lighting equipment (< 25 Watt) and need to follow the standard
EN 61000-3-2 (about harmonics).

The international standard IEC 61000-3-2 states in clause 7.3.1:
"Lighting equipment having an active input power <=3D25W shall comply
with one of the following sets of requirements: ... )

We have to follow the European standard (EN 61000-3-2:2000). Of this we
only have the French text. The clause 7.3 of the is different from the
IEC-standard and only mentions "les appareils d'=E9clairage =E0
d=E9chargement <=3D25W" (discharge lamps). About other lamps (like ours)
nothing is said, so they automatically comply.

Is this a mistake in the translation or is the standard in Europe
really less strict then the international standard???

Does someone have the English version of EN61000-3-2:2000 and does it
say the same thing?

Greets.

Hi Maz,

This 61000-3-2:2005 is not yet a standard, it is still in voting-status
..

I cannot download the draft from the site and i think it won't be for
sale yet.

Greets.
