Thanks for the opinion.
Actually, I checked the earthing system myself, tracing the ground wire
from the fuse box down to the earth (grounds outside the building).

| Ben, if you inspect the socket (preferrably with power OFF), you may
discover the cause. In any case, the cost of replacing the socket should
be fairly low. The arcing is not something desirable.
I assume you've verified the integrity of the grounding wire from the
socket to the fuse box and its connections?
