:? I am building a new work shop and in the process of converting some
of my power tools to 240v and therefore I am wiring the shop for 240
to support those tools. is there anyway to provide gfi protection to
those tools??:

I was curious about 240VAC GFCI protection too and found this website
mostly dedicated to spas & hot tubs, but it has several different types
of GFI & 240 protection devices including gfci load centers, which may
be what you need for your shop. * they seem kind of pricey to me * but
who can put a price on living safely....I hope it helps.,

Phil; I went to see it and the site was closed for maintenance of all
things };-)

You know I haven't found anything coded on spacing of switches from door
frames or entrances, only from floors.....???

Give it another try. I just loaded it again.

I don't know that there is any such code. Might be a good idea in some
cases.

My dad has a bathroom light switch that is about 4 feet in from the door.
There is physically no place to put it any closer because there is a closet
immediately on one side and (if he reversed the door hinge) a bathtub on
the other side. He frequently curses the builder of the house.

I can imagine };-) that is why i think they should revise the placement
code for switches with notes or something to that effect. He can put an
occupancy sensor inside over the entrance with a long time delay }:-)

240 GFI breakers are available at any electrical supply house or you
can always check Home Depot or Lowes depending on what brand and
model breaker panel you have.
