| I would greatly appreciate replies to this question:
Can a building (electrical building) containing MCCs and control panels =
be made a non-classified area if it is located beside a pump building =
which is classified as Class I Zone 2?
The electrical building is going to have the walls totally sealed to =
prevent gas from leaking inside. The side walls of the pump building =
nearest the electrical building is going to be sealed as well.
I have not experienced something like this arrangement as all electrical =
buildings I have worked on are located outside any classified extent. =
This one will have the electrical building within the 3meters classified =
extent of the pump building. Even though the side walls of both =
buildings are going to be sealed, I'm still not convinced that the =
electrical building should be anywhere within a classified area.
It would even be interesting to know how the "sealing" is going to be =
applied.
So, if anybody has any experience with this scenario, your reply to this =
would really be appreciated.
