Hi Folks,

Hi folks, I did spend some hours on Google but found this subject
rather intractable.
I am looking at the CE approval requirements for a product which is
basically a programmable ac and dc PSU for lab and production test use
only.

This desktop unit is fed from an approved mains to 24vdc desktop
supply.
Internally there are a pair of differential amps fed from +-110vdc
rails. The diferential output appearing on the front panel can
therefore be between +220 and -220 volts max and therefore 440 volts
max for an ac signal.

My question is, what are the requirements to keep these test
voltages isolated or not from the metal case which is at mains safety
earth ? and what about if I want to provide a test voltage with respect
to safety earth ? Does EN61010 give me any benefit over EN60950 ?

Thanks, Steve
