Author Designations for Reed Switch

Hi,

I'm updating our wiring specifications to be as standardized as
possible, and one of the things I'm correcting is our designations. I
have a question on Reed Switches on pneumatic cylinders.

We typically designate these RS, as in RS1, RS2, RS3...etc.
Going through the NFPA appendix on designations, there is no listing
for reed switch. There is switch (S) and proximity switch (PRS), but no
specific reed switch listing.

Does anyone know what the standard that most people use for labeling
the reed switches mounted to cylinders? Does everyone just use PRS?

Thanks!
Tom
